hey katie – why ice dye?
During the lockdown days of 2020, Katie was seeking a creative outlet, and “dyeing fabric brought me a lot of joy and color during those dark times.”
She began creating hand-dyed photography backdrops – the kind Katie wished she’d had during her years in New York as a staff photographer at Glamour and Elle. The collection has since expanded to housewares, apparel and more.
The magic of the creative process continues to bring Katie that same joy. “You’re throwing dye over ice, then you wait. Then it’s Christmas every day when I get to rinse out these creations. It’s a process that you can’t control – that keeps me coming back.”
