While Casi is all about connecting with young audiences, we suspect that she’s got a gaggle of fans in the corporate creative space. After years boosting Buffalo’s signal as a graphic designer and photographer at Invest Buffalo Niagara and Be in Buffalo, Casi made the leap into her own brand.

And a couple of years ago, as she was awaiting the birth of her daughter, Casi started creating art she wanted her little one to love. Now, with Omie Oh My!, she’s turned her love of critters and whimsy into her profession.

Years ago, a young girl sat on her school bus and imagined what it would be like to sit in a studio and be an artist. Today, Casi Hall has brought that vision to life: the studio, the art and the illustrated products that draw fans of all ages at local maker markets.

“I get so excited when the stroller rolls up, or I get to see a kid at the table and get to say hi. Some of the younger kids love the stickers and want to look at the stickers with their parents,” Casi says.

“Just knowing that it feels at my core like this is my true expression and calling – to be able to share that with other people.”

Casi’s ultimate, ultimate dream is to illustrate children’s books, so her young daughter’s bookshelves are among her favorite sources of inspiration.

“I read children's books, picture books, constantly to my daughter,” she says with a smile. “She loves and is obsessed with books, and I am as well. Ever since I was a little kid.”

And while those lil’ critters are cute, Casi’s also drawn to the way they can tell vital stories for childhood development. Birds delivering twigs, mice helping out others – that’s community-building, kindness and connection.

Her happy place? Sitting in a friend’s studio in East Aurora for Thursday painting sessions – chatting, laughing and vibing with a small group. “When I’m in a community of like-minded people, doing something creative, that’s my happy place for sure.”
